Hot Weather

It was 88 degrees in Olympia, Washington. Very HOT for this time of year! People are really enjoying getting out on their bikes, motorcycles, and running & walking around Capital Lake, and just seeing a lot of the sun. I started wearing my capri pants and birkenstock sandals to work two days before the big heat. It was in the 70's and I was ready to get out of my corduroy dress pants and layers. The previous week was cool and wet, so it is a nice change. But we are being told cool rainy weather will be here by this weekend. Yuck! Such is the nature of the Pacific North West weather. We are the area that a "socks, sandals, shorts" television add is made for. Can't remember the product it is advertising, but we crack up every time we see the add! It is so PNW coast.
The photo is of a yellow Korean Rose according to my husband, Steve, with tulips somehow having gotten transported by a squirrel I suspect. The Korean Rose is a perennial and takes almost no maintenance. It blooms like crazy at this time of the year, but it will be fading soon.
