Shopping for Jewelry Making Tools
Went to Harbor Freight Tools earlier in the week to get a metal grinder for smoothing metal for jewelry making as well as a buffer kit for buffing the metal. It even comes with a basic flex shaft. I've really wanted a flex shaft, but they get spendy and I can never figure out which attachments I don't need, (I want them all!) So this seems to be a 'starter' flex shaft in my opinion, but I'm looking forward to putting it and the grinder in the garage studio and firing them up!
Just finished placing an order at Art Beads (http://bit.ly/1oCil1g) here in Washington state. Going to try my hand at working with flat and round leather. I have some gifts to make for some teens I know that are graduating from high school that are well deserving of something fun to wear on their wrist or to look at in their jewelry box!
Received my beautiful new Moo Cards (www.moo.com) earlier this week! I ordered several different types of cards. In addition to passing them out at art shows and other places I hang my earrings on them and display them on silk noil (a nubby silk fabric) covered display boards. I see the different cards as representing fabric you might be wearing next to or near the jewelry...thus giving the viewer an idea of how the item might look with an outfit. The Moo Cards were also a very big hit as display cards in last seasons art shows. They added attention to the display big time! Also I needed to update information on the back of the cards so it was time to order new ones.
Back to working on the web site, after some lunch!
Have a Great Day!
Chris
